When to cleanse?
You can juice cleanse safely for up to 40 days, though most people do not have the time for that! Their lives, social and professional, usually get in the way! A good time to cleanse would be after a holiday or any indulgent weekend! If you are looking to get your diet back on track, a cleanse is a good way to jump-start healthy habits. In just 1-3 days you will be feeling good as new.
A few days before embarking on your juice cleanse, it is advised to clean up your diet by eliminating foods such as wheat, dairy, nuts, meat, caffeine, alcohol and sugar. Focus in on fresh vegetables, fruits, smoothies, whole grains and lots of water! Having a nice steak, glass of wine and bowl of ice cream the night before juice cleansing will only make your experience more difficult!
After your cleanse you should follow a similar diet by reintroducing all foods slowly. Start with a breakfast of fruit or fruit smoothies and lunches and dinners consisting of large salads and whole grains (such as quinoa, brown rice or millet). When you feel ready , start to incorporate meats, wheat and dairy back into your diet.
